1by1 - Plugin Pack

1by1 is my favourite sound player and this plugin pack makes it even better.

But i have a problem with in_mod.dll v2.2.10 beta29:
It crashes on many older .mod and .mdz files.

So i tried to use the newer in_mod.dll v2.83 from Winamp, which has no problem playing the sound files.

But unfortunately, 1by1 won't load this plugin, it doesn't show up in the decoders list

Any suggestions?

Here's some other DLLs that you can try (DOWNLOAD). The ZIP includes 4 alternatives:

- in_modplug (v1.0.0.1)
My tests: No problems playing MOD, IT, XM, MDZ and ITZ files.

- in_mod (v2.2.10 Beta 7)
My tests: No problems playing MOD, XM and IT files. Crashed when I tried to play MDZ and ITZ files.

- in_bass (v2.2.0.)
My tests: No problems playing the MOD, XM and IT files. Doesn't support/recognize compressed formats like MDZ, ITZ, etc. Needs "bass.dll" (included in the ZIP) to be present in the same folder as "in_bass.dll".

- in_sk00l (v.0.89 Beta 2)
My tests: Out of my MOD, IT, XM, MDZ and ITZ format samples, it only supports/plays MOD files. However, and unlike the other 3 DLLs, this one provides support for many other Amiga music formats.

(Regarding my tests, I have to say, they were not really extensive, being that my sample-files base is quite limited and improvised. Further testing is certainly welcome.)

As for suggestions... I guess this should always be mentioned: when testing a particular decoder, remove every other DLL (even if they are clearly for a different format/purpose) from 1by1's main folder and leave only the one being tested, just to be sure there are no conflicts.

I feel it would make it more convenient to users if you either included the 1by1 plug-in pack with each update version of 1by1 when you submit it to websites like MajorGeeks/ Softpedia etc., or send it to them as a separate file. Convenience is what your program is all about - don't have to create play list , just click a folder and go - so making it easier to get your plug-ins make sense.

I don't know if this is proper or not (I can erase it later if it is not), but I figured I could pack all the new BASS.DLL related plugin and add-ons in a single file to make things easier for other users (instead of having to go to another site, download 16 different files, unpack, select only the desired .dll, move it, erase the rest, etc, etc):

Since 1by1 supports BASS, Winamp-Plugins are not longer recommended. They should only be used for formats that BASS can't handle.

The "in_*.dll" files must be removed from the program folder, otherwise they will be used prior a present BASS lib. In the status bar at the bottom 1by1 shows the currently used decoder on play. Plugins run less stable in 1by1 than BASS. And they don't accept Unicode filenames. The support won't be developed any further.

i thought of sharing my plugin experiments with you.
just made 3 packs with 1by1 v 1.76 tested on win7 x64 ,running stable and play reliable here.
the 7z compressed archive contains the dlls, inis and dependencies only.


min-pack contains the base bass library for all major formats (ape, mpc, m4a, flac, wave, wma, cd, mp3, tagsupport via bass).slim quick,reliable. contains 9 files


max-pack contains all base input dlls plus all wa2 input dlls i could find that work and doesnt crash 1by1 (mainly chip_amp, updated components and additional ones) for more formats (more trackers and videogamemusic). running stable, 1by1 startup slightly delayed on my machine, may be somewhat slower on older machines, only undecodable format for me are .snd tracked files.. contains 49 files, just a compilation of all compatible usable plugins. delete what u dont need for faster startup.


my-pack is just suited to fit my needs,as i dont need no weird format support i dont have files of.
consists of min pack plus bassmidi, bass_alac, in_modplug, in_mt2, in_notsofatso, in_psf, in_sidplay2, in_school, in_snes, in_usf and in_vgm.
23 files, stable, reliable, plays nearly all my files.
